The base or floor of the expanded building has been poured and is now curing. Heavy equipment is kept off of the surface to avoid damage.
In this photo, you may be able to discern a differerence in surface color. The areas near the top of the screen – future Teen Area and Maker Space – are made of a different blend of concrete which will later be polished for a finished design feature.
Below (left), is a rendering of the Maker Space by our architect, FEH Design. Below (right) is a close-up of the concrete containing more sediment creating a stronger base for the project. This would be an area of flooring that will not be polished.
