Q&A
Getting ready to Move - long checkouts.
Instead of packing and lifting boxes, we’re asking you to check out our materials and take them home for a lengthier stay!
Long Term-Checkouts begin December 16, 2024 – January 12, 2025, all items checked out will have a 5-week loan period. Help us while we settle into our new space by checking out our collection. (excludes Chromebooks and hotspots)
Requesting Materials
In our temporary location, we will continue to have new materials including books, DVDs, graphic novels, and more.
Since we’ll take about 1/6th of our collection, materials can be requested through the county SHARE catalog. To access items, search for an item, enter your library card and PIN number, and place a hold. Need a library card? Locate your PIN number. Uncertain how to place a hold? Watch a video.
Returning Materials
We will have a book/material return on the sidewalk outside of our temporary location for 24/7 returns.
Programming
Once we are up and running in the temporary space, we will continue our programming for all ages. Future program details can be found on our EVENTS page, flyers at the library or via our newsletter and social media channels. Since our space is limited, please note WHERE the programs are located.
Storytime
Monday & Wednesday storytimes will continue in our temporary location beginning at 10am.
Interlibrary Loan
Library cardholders have the ability to request materials throughout Wisconsin using the Wiscat service which continues in our temporary space. Ask a librarian to order an item outside of our SHARE collection for free. If available, items may take 2-4 weeks to arrive.
Where is the art collection?
For the safety of the collection during packing, moving and ultimately building, the paintings have been moved to storage at the City of Delavan. Hanging in various employee spaces, the artwork will be safe during our expansion process.
Material Donations
The last day for material donations (books, DVDs, etc.) will be Saturday, December 28th.
Our Friends group is prepared and has secured offsite storage to receive and process donations while our expansion is in process. If you have donations to share with the Friends after December 28th, please contact by email: friends@aramlibrary.org to arrange a delivery meeting location.
Please stay tuned for a date when donations will return in early 2025.
