Expansion Update!

On Wednesday, October 23rd, Rezzar Demolition from Crystal Lake, Illinois began demolition of 121 S. Fourth Street, Delavan in preparation for Aram Public Library’s expansion project!

Rezzar Demolition received the City’s contract out of seven bidders.

Mark Wendorf, Director of Public Works shared, “The duplex was checked for asbestos and salvage items were removed from the premises prior to demolition.”

Also prior to demolition, the City of Delavan Fire Department was able to utilize the vacant building for smoke training/rescue efforts, and for ventilation training.

“[Expansion] work is beginning to happen!” exclaimed Michelle Carter, library director, with great enthusiasm and excitement.

This is the first of many big steps toward the expansion of the new library space. Be sure to pay attention for future changes – big things are coming!
