Viewing the library build from 4th Street, you can just see the four large excavated areas which will accomodate the columns to support the clerestory.
Clerestory: a series of windows admitting light.
One of the goals of the project was to design for natural light to enter the building. The clerestory will allow natural light to enter the library space enhancing mood and focus particularly for reading and overall ambiance.
