Scott will share the geological wonders of Wisconsin’s state parks — impressive bluffs, valleys, waterfalls and lakes. This beautiful scenery and recreational opportunties are windows into the distant past, offering clues to the dramatic events that have shaped the land over billions of years.
He takes readers with him to twenty-eight parks, forests, and natural areas.
Scott Spoolman is a science writer now focusing on stories of natural science and the environment related to Wisconsin. He grew up in northern Wisconsin and after earninga master’s degree from the University of Minnesota School of Journalism, he worked for several years as an editor in the publishing industry. Since then, he has worked as a freelance writer for a variety of outlets and has co-authoreda series of environmental science textbooks.
He recently published books are the award-winning Wisconsin State Parks: Extraordinary Stories of Geology and Natural History, published by the Wisconsin Historical Society Press, and Wisconsin Rocks: A Guide to Geologic Sites in the Badger State, published by Mountain Press Publishing Co.
